Johnrex B. Galdo wins second place in an international extemporaneous speaking competition Friday, August 10.The event was the 13th International Youth Day celebration held at New Era University, Quezon City from August 9-12, 2012.

Galdo, a senior student of the College of Education represented Region Xll and competed against 11 other regional contestants in the country.

The International Youth Day Celebration was spearheaded by the United Nations Association of the Philippines (UNAP) through its Youth arm United Nations Youth Association of the Philippines (UNYAP).

The theme for this year is “Sustainability for All: A key in Achieving Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)”.

The celebration aimed to mobilize the youth sector and youth leaders to champion peace, human rights and sustainable development as they continue taking action on current global and national issues and concerns towards the fulfillment of the MDGs by 2015 pursuant to the Department of Interior and Local Government Memo Circular No. 2012-133.
